The Franz & Christine Netzl winery is one of Carnuntum's most traditional wineries and is considered the driving force behind this far eastern Austrian region's red wine miracle of the 1990s. Today, their daughter Christina Netzl manages the fortunes of this flagship business, determinedly pursuing her own path while continuing to exchange valuable experience with her parents. They instilled in her a keen sense of provenance and are a key source of support is this endeavour.

About Franz & Christine Netzl winery

What began in 1860 as a mixed agricultural business in Göttlesbrunn in the far east of Austria, is now one of Austria's most distinguished wineries under the management of Christina Netzl. Together with her father Franz and her mother Christine, who embody experience and tradition, she runs the family winery with innovative strength and international vision. On around 30 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards, wines with depth, clarity, character and heart are produced – many of which have won awards and gained international recognition. The focus is on the native red Zweigelt grape variety, which develops its full potential in the soils and climate of Carnuntum. Christina, or Tina as she is known, focuses on precise site management, sustainable cultivation and uncompromising quality.
