Moravian Wine Masterclass in Vienna
Two generations of Czech ‘Winery of the Year’ winners, two defining Moravian terroirs and an evening full of discovery on Sunday 17 May, VÍNO J. STÁVEK and Vinařství Plenér invite guests to a Moravian Wine Masterclass at Pub Klemo wine bar.
The focus will be on boutique wines from organic viticulture, including several interpretations of Frankovka/Blaufränkisch from the Modré hory region, as well as mineral-driven wines from the limestone slopes of the Pálava Hills.
Both wineries have been awarded ‘Winery of the Year’ and stand for craftsmanship, a strong sense of origin and nature-oriented work in the vineyard and cellar.
Jan Stávek, whose winery was named ‘Winery of the Year’ in 2015, will present the classic, characterful side of Moravian red wine. Vinařství Plenér, the current title holder, represents a new generation of Czech winemakers. Winemaker Dominika Černohorská from Plenér winery will present the young, independent side of Czech wine: close to nature, precise and shaped by the limestone slopes of Pálava.
The masterclass is aimed at sommeliers, professionals and everyone interested in discovering Czech wine beyond the well-known paths.
Light refreshments will be served during the masterclass.
