The Luxury of Time in Brazil

Fresh wind in the Douro - at the four family-run wineries Quinta do Vallado, Niepoort, Quinta do Crasto and Quinta do Vale Meão, the next generation is at the starting line ready to demonstrate the huge potential of the Douro. The Douro Boys' motto is the ‘Luxury of Time’ because time is the decisive factor when it comes to the maturity and enjoyment of truly great wines.

The Douro Boys first visited Brazil together in 2011 and 2012 and have since been promoting their wines through local distributors. Over the years, some of the Douro Boys have visited individually, but now it’s time for them to return as a group!

This visit marks the first international edition of the Douro Boys' masterclasses under the theme ‘Luxury of Time’, a concept that values patience and time in the creation of long-lived, world-class wines. Participants will have the rare opportunity to taste an exclusive selection of aged DOC Douro and Port wines, as well as take part in enriching discussions with producers Tomás Roquette (Quinta do Crasto), Francisco Olazabal (Quinta do Vale Meão), José Teles (Niepoort) and João Alvares Ribeiro (Quinta do Vallado). 

Brazil is one of the most important international markets for the Douro Boys, and so is the perfect destination for the group’s first ‘Luxury of Time’ event after its 20th anniversary celebrations in Porto in 2023.
