What ProWein 2026 has to offer
ProWein, traditionally the leading trade fair for wine and spirits, is reinventing itself in 2026. We also have some new recommendations to add to our established favourites.
From 15-17 March 2026, Düsseldorf once again becomes the meeting place for the wine world. Like the international industry itself, ProWein is changing and this year will present a new hall concept and a greater focus on topical categories such as sparkling, no & low and organic. Amid this evolution, these seven wineries will be presenting themselves in a dynamic and innovative way at ProWein with exciting premieres and rarities:
Baden, Germany Blankenhorn winery
If you want to taste all the facets of the Gutedel or Chasselas grape variety, Germany's Blankenhorn is the place to go. At the trade fair, the Markgräflerland winery, located near the border of France and Switzerland, will be presenting five wines that demonstrate the enormous potential and range of this often underrated grape variety, plus the premiere of its new Low Alcohol Gutedel, dry and with a light 9% alcohol content.
Eltville, Rheingau, Germany VAUX
Back in 2016, sparkling wine producer VAUX demonstrated its visionary approach with Träublein, a non-alcoholic alternative to sparkling wine. The new proxy from the Franco-German sparkling producer is no less avant-garde, setting fresh standards for 100% alcohol-free enjoyment. The first tasting samples will be available at ProWein. Together with CEO Christoph Graf, the new sales manager Oliver Nickel and Annika Walther (online marketing) will also present the current vintages of the entire sparkling wine range.
Nahe, Germany Prinz Salm winery
Prinz Salm, one of Germany's oldest wineries, has been cultivating the unique VDP.GROSSE LAGE® FELSENECK for generations. Over the years, the family has continuously expanded its knowledge and now Princess Victoria and Prince Felix zu Salm-Salm have pooled this experience and put it into practice. The result is the first single-varietal Riesling sparkling wine made from grapes grown in this vineyard, made using the traditional bottle fermentation method and aged on the lees for over 50 months.
This special product will be presented at ProWein, along with the new Sparkling Verjus for those who want to toast without alcohol. The 2014 and 2015 vintages of the four VDP.GROSSE GEWÄCHSE® wines from Prinz Salm winery will also be poured for the first time at the trade fair after ten years of ageing.
Leithaberg, Austria Esterházy winery
For more than 300 years, Esterházy has consistently been setting new standards with its pioneering viticultural practices in the Austria's cool climate Leithaberg appellation. Now this organic estate has notched up another first – a rare trio of Sekts crafted from entirely from the native red variety, Blaufränkisch. Taste the Grosse Reserve Blanc de Noir Brut Nature 2019, Reserve Rosé Brut 2020 and Brut NV at ProWein and discover for yourself (alongside their other wines of origin) why this esteemed producer is convinced that only Blaufränkisch is capable of fully expressing its singular terroir in sparkling form.
Österreichische Traditionsweingüter
The ÖTW group of wineries stretches from the Traisental valley to the metropolis of Vienna, from the north of the Weinviertel region to the slopes of Spitzerberg in Carnuntum, from Thermenregion to Wagram, and in the Kremstal and Kamptal valleys. The 92 winemakers from eight Austrian wine regions are united by the conviction that origin is the future. As the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter, they developed a site classification system over the last 30 years that was enshrined in law in 2023. In Düsseldorf, 27 ÖTW members will individually present their wines of origin, notably their Erste Lage (Premier Cru) sites.

Save the Date – Single Vineyard Summit 2026
Mark your calendar: from Monday 7 September to Thursday 10 September 2026, the ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit will take place at Grafenegg castle in Austria. Reserved exclusively for wine professionals, this prestigious tasting offers a four-day, in-depth exploration of Austria’s finest single vineyard wines. Advance registration is already open.
Mittelburgenland, Austria Kerschbaum winery
Michael Kerschbaum followed in his father's footsteps and now cultivates around 40 hectares of vineyards in central Burgenland. Realising that red wines are often drunk too early, the winemaker made a decision in 2015 to make Blaufränkisch available to connoisseurs at its optimal maturity. After ten years, Blaufränkisch 'X' was launched in October 2025 and can now be tasted for the first time at ProWein. In addition, classics from Kerschbaum winery such as the cuvées Impresario (2023), Paul Kerschbaum (2022) and Opera (2022), as well as Blaufränkisch from various vineyards, will also travel to Düsseldorf.
Hall 1 / B43
Krispel winery knows better than almost anyone else how to let the terroir speak for itself in its wines. Located in southeastern Styria, at the foot of the extinct Stradner-Kogel volcano, all of its vines are rooted in soils characterised by basalt rock. Yet in individual vineyards, such as the steep, southeast facing Hochstrandl, other soil types like clay also come into play, lending a wonderful character to Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) and Sauvignon Blanc. The 2022 vintages will be available for tasting at ProWein. Krispel will also present the new vintage of its B1 wine (2019), a wine which ages for a total of seven years, including time in troughs made of volcanic basalt rock.
