Back in 2016, long before alcohol-free beverages surged in popularity, sparkling wine producer VAUX created Träublein, a zero-alcohol alternative to sparkling wine. Ten years later, the German-French winery is once again leading the way, launching the new ‘grown-up’ sparkling organic proxy BRAVAUX!.

"This will be a serious alternative to our premium sparkling wines," says CEO Christoph Graf. "The VAUX board was one of the first to focus on non-alcoholic sparkling drinks and, with ten years of production and market experience, we are now ready to move to the next level." The name might be a secret for now but the proxy's qualities are not. "It's dry and mature," he adds.

BRAVAUX! combines hops and grapes in an unexpectedly elegant way and is 100% organic. It is based on a barley malt wort that undergoes lactic acid fermentation. In the next step, it is refined with two high-quality hop varieties (‘cold hopped’). Organic verjus, the juice of green harvested grapes, and grape juice provide that certain something and refreshing acidity. A little carbon dioxide at the end invigorates and brings even more freshness to the blend.

Experienced team

VAUX is once again joining forces with its ‘perfect partner’, the Clemens Härle brewery in Bavaria's Allgäu region. The two companies not only share ten years of collaborating on the production of Träubleins, but also common values. "At Härle, sustainability is not just a marketing term, but a deeply-held conviction," emphasises Christoph Graf.

Masterful performance

A Master of Wine was even engaged to design the packaging for this premium zero-alcohol cuvée. Neil Tully MW, founder and creative director of Amphora Design in England, who also developed the impressive look of the forward-focused l'Artiste series for VAUX. One glimpse at the design of the new proxy makes it clear that this is the work of a professional with a wealth of experience in the beverage world.

ProWein kick-off

The Eltville sparkling wine producer presented a first preview of its new, ‘mature’ blend at ProWein and is pleased with the results. Starting April 22, BRAVAUX! will be available for order in the online shop, in restaurants and via premium retailers.
