International sommeliers experience the taste and sound of Austria 

Sommeliers from around the world will meet at the ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit in Austria on 4. September to network and enjoy a picnic and unique musical experience at the picturesque Grafenegg castle park. 

The reigning ASI world champion Raimonds Tomsons (Latvia), his predecessor Marc Almert, as well as leading sommeliers from Hong Kong, mainland China and many more countries will be available to exchange experiences and stories.

The members of the premier winery group who are organising the summit, Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (Traditional Wine Estates of Austria), will host a sommelier picnic in the castle park. Hand-picked products from the Kamptal and Waldviertel regions will be served up, accompanied by sparkling wines from the ÖTW cellars.

 

The sound (& appellations) of music 

Then, in the evening, sommeliers from all over the world will take to the Wolkenturm open-air stage at Grafenegg, and experience a music lesson that will include a yodelling workshop in which they can not only taste origin, but also hear it…

 

Shake it out!

Later, it’s time to party in the park. Somm clubbing, Grafenegg style…

ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit: Registration

The picnic is part of Austria’s most exciting and demanding tasting, the ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit which is taking place from 4. to 8. September at Grafenegg, west of Vienna. Around 500 site-specific wines will be personally presented by vintners who hail from all of Austria’s key wine regions.

There are still a few slots available, starting at 9am and 2pm, to taste this unprecedented selection of single vineyard wines.

About the Austrian Single Vineyard Summit

Five wine producer organisations come together for this event: Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (ÖTW), covering the Danube regions of Kamptal, Kremstal, Thermenregion, Traisental, Wagram, Vienna and Carnuntum, who are renowned for being pioneers in the classification of Erste Lage wines in Austria. They are joined by winegrowers from Eisenberg and Leithaberg as well as the Styrian Terroir and Classic Wine Estates (STK). 2022 marked the inaugural appearance of Vinea Wachau (Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus), an association of Wachau winegrowers founded in 1983. The ÖTW Single Vineyard Summit therefore offers tastings from all of the key wine regions and sites in Austria, under one roof at Grafenegg castle.
