“Our cheese means the world to us!” say “The Milk Boys” Thomas and Markus Ehammer. You can get an insight into this world on January 13th at the Dorli Muhr winery . Although the cheese dairy in Hopfgarten in Tyrol is probably one of the most dynamic companies in Austria and its cheese specialties are in such demand that the brothers can hardly keep up with production, they still find time to visit Spitzerberg.

Perfect match

The two “milk obsessives”, who focus on sustainability and animal welfare, specialize in Camembert and blue cheese, for which they use organic hay milk from local farmers and happy cows. Thomas and Markus Ehammer are not only cheese experts, they are also wine lovers. And together with top winemaker Dorli Muhr – recently named “Exceptional Winemaker of the Year 2024” by Gault&Millau – and the participants, they will determine the best pairings of their cheeses and Dorli Muhr's top wines.

Über Weingut Dorli Muhr

Dorli Muhr, die seit drei Jahrzehnten die international renommierte Agentur Wine+Partners führt, gründete ihr Weingut im Jahr 2002. Das Herz des Weingutes ist eine 0,17 Hektar große Parzelle, die ihre Großmutter im Jahr 1918 zur Hochzeit geschenkt bekam. Dorli Muhr erwarb Stück für Stück Weingärten mit besonders alten Blaufränkisch Reben am Spitzerberg, stellte alle Weinberge auf biologische Bewirtschaftung um und begründete eine neue, besonders sanfte Vinifizierungsmethode, um die feinen, eleganten Charakterzüge des Blaufränkisch hervorzuheben. Der Spitzerberg wurde 2019 von den Österreichischen Traditionsweingüter als Erste Lage klassifiziert.
