Taking a deep breath in the mountains - Summer at the Hotel Post Lech

by Bettina Bäck

You really don’t need to mention it, everybody perceives it quite clearly - times are exhausting. The need for peace and quiet is growing. Letting go, looking at beautiful nature, simply relaxing. That`s what we need.

But please, far away from hustle and bustle, heat, hurly-burly and noise. The needs have changed. We would rather go to a place where we can breathe fresh, healthy air. Where we can let our gaze wander far and wide over the fabulous landscape. Where we can listen to the babbling of the brook and the buzzing of the bees during the day, and where it is quiet as a mouse at night and a crystal-clear starry sky opens up.

A summer dream in the Alps

Yes, this place really does exist - Lech am Arlberg. Situated at 1,444 metres above sea level, nestled in the majestic Vorarlberg Alps, you will discover this summer dream come true. Lech is actually known as a winter sports Eldorado with nearly endless slopes, but in summer it is very peaceful here - especially at the iconic Hotel Post Lech. The friendly, unpretentious 5-star hotel is a place where you simply feel at home. The Moosbrugger Family is a host who cultivates a warm atmosphere and makes a point of personally looking after the well-being of the guests. A discreet withdrawal is just as possible as happy family holidays.

Over a good glass of wine in the evening - the wine cellar is excellently stocked with 14,000 bottles and makes every wine lover's heart beat faster - Florian Moosbrugger is happy to reveal the most beautiful hiking trails to crystal-clear mountain lakes and gives tips on the mountain meadows where the mountain rose is currently in bloom or the special yellow gentian can be found. By the way: there are 350 (!) kilometres of hiking and walking trails in Lech / Zürs and an extensive alpine offer for athletes as well as for "kids only".

At home at the Post Lech

In the hotel itself, the offer is entirely geared towards the personal well-being of the guests. After all, the idea is not to reside here, but to live here, find peace and recharge one's batteries. That is why the rooms are equipped with the highest quality materials, sophisticated comfort and stylish design details, yet have their own unmistakable traditional and cosy character. No two rooms are alike. The Post cuisine is versatile as well. It ranges from wonderfully flaky Kaiserschmarren, which is best enjoyed on the sunny terrace, to fresh fish from the Lech waters and gourmet dinners with wine pairing.

In the hotel's own "Ebra" flower garden you can wonderfully retreat with a book while the children romp around the playground or also in the separate kids’ indoor pool with slide and jacuzzi. If you are seeking peace and quiet, you can indulge in soothing treatments in the modern spa or find your own centre in the sauna worlds. Those who want to be active, can do a few laps in the outdoor panorama pool with a breath-taking view of the surrounding mountains.

Discover the Arlberg

The summer season at the Hotel Post Lech lasts from 16 June to 25 September 2022, enough time to enjoy lakeside picnic spots, Kneipp cures in mountain water, remote mountain villages, sunrises in the mountains, afternoons on the golf course, alpine rose honey, mountain cheese, bacon and Lech bread with alpine butter and wild chives. The wealth of beautiful impressions is almost endless, and there is something for every taste and every "alpine degree". The range of science & culture on offer during the 2022 summer season is likewise remarkable:

  • 14. - 17. July Literaricum Lech

  • 1. - 8. August Lech Classic Festival

  • 10. - 14. August Jazzbühne Lech

  • 20. - 25. September Philosophicum Lech
